What we collect, and what we do with it.

Effective August 15, 2026. The short version: we collect what we need to run your sale, we don't sell your data, and payments are handled by Stripe — we never see your full card or bank numbers.

What we collect

Account information. Name, email address, and password when you sign up, plus your sale's address and dates if you host one.

Sale content. The photos, titles, descriptions, and prices for items in your sale. Sale pages are public by design — that's how buyers find them.

Transactions. Records of items sold, offers made, entry reservations, and payment status. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store full card numbers or your bank credentials.

Messages. What you send through the contact form or to Scout, so we can respond and improve the product.

Technical basics. Standard server logs (IP address, pages requested) and the session cookie that keeps you signed in. No third-party ad trackers.

How we use it

To run the service: build and display your sale page, process payments and offers, manage entry reservations, send transactional email (receipts, offer alerts, account notices), keep the platform secure, and fix problems. We may use aggregate, de-identified data (like "how many sales ran last month") to understand and improve the product.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with the services that make the platform work:

Stripe — payment processing and seller bank connections, under Stripe's privacy policy.
AI providers — item photos and related text are processed by our AI vision service to generate Scout's descriptions and price suggestions.
Email delivery — a transactional email service sends receipts and notifications.
Hosting — our servers, like every website's, store the data above.

We'll disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, and we'd tell you when legally allowed.

What's public

Published sale pages — items, photos, prices, sale dates, and the sale address — are visible to anyone, because that's what makes a sale work. Your email and account details are never shown publicly. Unpublish your sale and the page comes down.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and transaction records while your account is active and as needed for tax and legal purposes. Want your account and personal data deleted? Ask us and we'll take care of it, keeping only what the law requires us to retain (like transaction records).

Security

Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and payment credentials live with Stripe, not us. No system is perfect, but we keep the surface small on purpose.

Children

EstateSaleUSA isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially, we'll post the update here with a new effective date. Questions about your data? Contact us — a person reads every message.

Your sale, your data.

We're the software, not the middleman — for your money and your information alike.
